MilitaryConnected.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the transition
experience for the military-connected community. We achieve this through employer education,
talent engagement, and data-driven research. Our goal is to ensure that every member of this
community has equal access to resources that can help them unlock their full potential in civilian
life.

We support the military-connected community by focusing on three main areas:

  • Employer Education: We help employers become military-ready, not just military-friendly, through tailored consultancy and ongoing support.
  • Talent Engagement: Our platform connects military talent with organizations that understand their value and are prepared to support their transition.
  • Data-Driven Research: We conduct extensive research to provide actionable insights into the challenges and best practices for military employment and successful transitions.

MilitaryConnected.org is unique because we offer a comprehensive, data-driven approach to supporting the military-connected community. Unlike other organizations that may focus solely on job placement or skill training, we provide a full spectrum of services that include employer education, talent engagement, and ongoing research to adapt to the evolving needs of the community.

We envision a world where every military-connected individual has the support they need to
succeed in civilian life. This includes access to:

  • Quality employment opportunities with military-ready companies.
  • Educational resources that help translate military skills into civilian careers.
  • Support networks that provide mentorship and guidance throughout their transition.

Our service partnership with Aliro is a strategic collaboration that helps our mission to support the military-connected community. This contractual relationship involves a shared service where Aliro licenses its proprietary talent platform and shares resources with MilitaryConnected.org.

This partnership is cost-efficient for MilitaryConnected.org as it allows us to expand our programs without incurring additional expenses, e.g. building and hosting our own Platform as a Service. It also allows us to offer a talent acquisition platform and experience to employers who want to become military-connected. The support from Aliro helps us reach more members of the military-connected community and provide them with the necessary resources for a successful transition to civilian life.

By working with Aliro, we ensure that more employers are prepared to support military talent, leading to better employment opportunities and smoother transitions for veterans and their families. This collaboration ultimately strengthens the overall support system for the military-connected community.

Yes, MilitaryConnected.org has a comprehensive privacy policy in place to protect the personally identifiable information (PII) of veterans and other members of the military-connected community. The organization is committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of all PII. MilitaryConnected.org does not share veterans’ PII with for-profit affiliates without explicit consent. The privacy policy ensures that any data collected is used solely for the purpose of
supporting veterans in their transition to civilian life and providing employers with the resources to better attract, support, and engage military-connected talent.

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit program was enacted in 1996 and is a federal tax incentive that encourages employers to hire individuals from certain targeted groups who face significant barriers to employment. One of these groups includes qualified veterans. WOTC incentivizes companies to hire veterans, helping to reduce unemployment among veterans while providing financial benefits to businesses (up to $9,600 per veteran hire).

You’re not alone. A study by CareerBuilder found that 71% of employers struggle to understand how military skills translate into job-specific requirements. MilitaryConnected’s team of military advisors can provide the human touch you need to have a more inclusive hiring process and leverage our AI-driven military occupational specialty (MOS) code translator.

Employee referrals are effective because candidates get hired 55% faster, are 4 times more likely to be hired, and stay 46% longer. By extending referrals to the military community, you tap into trusted networks of an underutilized talent pool, speeding up hiring and enhancing team diversity and expertise.

Our Military Advisory Services (MAS) program qualifies as a nonprofit activity. MAS is only offered to corporate sponsors of MilitaryConnected.org that wish to support our mission while committing publicly to be a military-ready employer. The program aims to support military-connected talent by helping organizations become truly military-ready, which aligns with our broader mission of serving the military community.

MAS focuses on addressing underemployment and high turnover among veterans and military spouses, aiming to create sustainable career opportunities. The program offers tailored consultancy and engagement to meet the unique needs of military-connected employees, rather than providing a one-size-fits-all service. MAS equips organizations with best practices, policies, and resources to support military talent over the long term, emphasizing ongoing community
support rather than short-term transactions.
